Position Overview

The Division Manager – Landscape Construction is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the construction division, including operations, financial performance, client relationships, and team development. This role oversees the planning, estimating, execution, and delivery of landscape construction projects to ensure they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The Division Manager serves as a key leader driving growth, profitability, and innovation within the construction business line.


Key Responsibilities

Direct daily operations of landscape construction projects, including project planning, scheduling, labor, equipment, and subcontractor management.

  • Ensure adherence to contract scope, drawings, and specifications while delivering high-quality finished projects.
  • Collaborate with estimators, project managers, and field supervisors to ensure efficient execution.
  • Oversee procurement of materials, vendor relationships, and subcontractor agreements.
  • Enforce safety policies, OSHA standards, and company protocols to promote a safe work environment.
  1. Client & Business Development
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with general contractors, developers, property owners, and design professionals.
  • Act as the primary contact for key construction clients, ensuring clear communication and satisfaction throughout projects.
  • Partner with the estimating/business development team to identify opportunities, bid competitively, and secure new work.
  • Support the growth of the division through referrals, repeat business, and expansion into new market segments.
  1. Financial & Strategic Management
  • Develop and manage the division’s annual budget, forecasts, and long-term growth strategies.
  • Oversee project cost controls, billing, and profitability to ensure margin targets are met.
  • Review and approve bids, estimates, and change orders.
  • Track KPIs and report regularly to executive leadership on project pipeline, backlog, and financial results.
  1. Team Leadership & Development
  • Recruit, train, and mentor project managers, superintendents, foremen, and field staff.
  • Provide leadership and career development opportunities to build a strong internal talent pipeline.
  • Conduct performance reviews and establish accountability for project outcomes.
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, innovation, and continuous improvement.


Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent industry experience accepted.

  • 7 years of progressive leadership experience in landscape construction, site development, or related industries.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple large-scale construction projects simultaneously.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in P&L responsibility and cost management.
  • Excellent client relations, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of hardscape, irrigation, grading, drainage, planting, and site construction best practices.
  • Proficiency with project management, scheduling, and estimating software.
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required.

Salary : $190,000 - $200,000
