Staff Accountant @ $50M Distribution Company

Coda Search is partnering with a growing manufacturing company based in Essex County, NJ to hire a Senior Accountant. This role will play a key part in the company’s accounting and close process, with primary responsibility for month-end close, financial reporting, and inventory accounting. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, hands-on, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while partnering cross-functionally with operations and supply chain teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the month-end and year-end close, including preparation and review of journal entries, account reconciliations, and close schedules.
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements
• Oversee inventory accounting, including standard costing, inventory reserves, cycle counts, and physical inventory processes.
• Reconcile inventory-related accounts and analyze variances related to usage, scrap, and production.
• Assist with cost of goods sold (COGS) analysis and margin reporting.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation, schedules, and responding to auditor inquiries.
• Assist with improving close processes, internal controls, and reporting efficiencies.
• Support ad hoc financial analysis and special projects as the business continues to grow.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 4 years of accounting experience, ideally within manufacturing or distribution.
• Strong experience with month-end close, financial statements, and inventory accounting.
• Solid understanding of US GAAP and cost accounting concepts.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
