Coda Search is partnering with a fast-growing consumer brands company that is located in Brooklyn, NY. The company has been rapidly growing, expanding to over 100 locations and is now breaking into new markets. The team is seeking to hire a Senior Payroll & Benefits Specialist to own payroll and benefits administration end-to-end. This is a standalone role. You'll be the company's go-to person for processing payroll for salaried and hourly employees, in addition to performing payroll audits and reconciliations.
Responsibilities
- Own full-cycle, multi-state payroll processing for salaried and hourly employees for over 1000 employees.
- Oversee and management timekeeping data for hourly employees, including overtime, shift differentials, premiums, and retro pay
- Manage new hires, terminations, pay changes, bonuses, commissions, and off-cycle payments accurately and on time.
- Administer deductions and withholdings, including benefits, 401(k), garnishments, and child support orders.
- Perform pre- and post-payroll reconciliations to catch variances and errors before they reach employees.
- Conduct regular payroll audits of pay rates, deductions, tax setups, PTO balances, and employee data, and put corrective controls in place.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws, including multi-state requirements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee payroll and benefits questions.
- Maintain and optimize the payroll/HRIS system and document policies, procedures, and internal controls that scale with the business.
Qualifications
- 4 years of hands-on payroll experience, including full-cycle processing for both salaried and hourly employees.
- Experience with a major payroll/HRIS platform such as [ADP, Paylocity, UKG, or Rippling].
- Advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, and reconciliation workbooks.
- High attention to detail and the discretion to handle confidential information.
- Comfort working independently in a standalone role and managing competing deadlines.
Salary : $110,000 - $130,000
