About the Role:
A privately owned real estate investment and operations company with 500 employees is seeking a Financial Accounting Analyst to join its six-person corporate accounting team. This position combines accounting responsibilities with analytical project work, including data review, dashboard creation, and process improvement. The ideal candidate brings strong communication skills, advanced Excel abilities, and the capability to work with large datasets.
Responsibilities:
- Split workload between accounting and analytical initiatives
- Reconcile financial data, vendor activity, and invoices within internal systems
- Analyze large datasets and prepare insights for management
- Build dashboards and automate recurring reporting
- Review and validate benefit-related financial activity and support invoice reconciliation
- Partner with HRIS, Payroll, and key stakeholders to ensure data accuracy and system alignment
- Prepare audit documentation and maintain compliance requirements
- Support system setup for open enrollment and ensure accurate benefit tracking
- Assist with ongoing projects focused on process improvement and efficiency
- Perform ad hoc duties as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Accounting, Finance, or Economics preferred
- 2-4 years of experience in accounting or financial analysis
- Strong understanding of accounting principles with interest in continued development
- Advanced Excel skills (formulas, macros/VBA, large dataset analysis)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail, urgency, and confidentiality
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Teams, Word, PowerPoint)
Salary : $75,000 - $85,000
