Data Center Engineer – Onsite Contract
Are you a hands-on engineer who thrives in fast-paced, technology-driven environments?
We’re looking for a Data Center Engineer to join our team in Edison, NJ and help keep critical infrastructure running smoothly. You’ll play a key role in ensuring that hardware, connectivity, and systems operate efficiently, while collaborating with vendors and internal teams to deliver seamless operations.
Responsibilities
- Set up and configure servers, storage, and networking devices in data centers and office tech spaces
- Ensure all systems are properly connected, powered, and operational
- Track and maintain inventory of IT assets using DCIM or similar tools
- Support planned upgrades and changes while minimizing service interruptions
- Monitor environmental conditions to maintain optimal equipment performance
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience working in data center or infrastructure engineering
- Hands-on experience with server, storage, and network device setup
- Familiarity with asset tracking tools and infrastructure monitoring
- Understanding of power distribution, airflow, and environmental management
- Basic networking knowledge (OSI layers 1–3)
- Comfortable working onsite at various locations and adapting to shifting priorities
