Import Logistics Coordinator

Position Summary:  Coda Resources are looking for an Import Logistics Coordinator to join our team in Glendale Heights. This role is responsible for working with vendors and freight forwarders to track air and ocean shipments, reviewing import documents, and data entry of shipments and associated costs into our data systems. A strong candidate has logistics experience, is dependable, detail oriented and able to work independently and also with a team.

Essential Duties:

•      Develop and maintain strong customer relationships with forwarders and vendors to obtain all necessary documentation.

•      Ensure packing lists, commercial invoices, bill of ladings received from vendors and freight forwarders are complete and in compliance with customs regulations.

•      Enter import shipments into ERP/MRP system, including quantities, costs, and ETA’s

•      Understand service expectations and requirements by customers and vendors.

•      Monitor status of shipments on vessel, at the port and during inland transportation to keep MRP system updated, working closely with Purchasing and Customer Service departments to communicate any delays.  

•      Scrutinize customs and freight documents for accuracy and input tariff/duties and freight costs, and any additional fees and charges into Company’s software systems.

•      Assist Import Logistic Manager in acquiring quotes and vessel and air and booking.

•      Processes/send invoices to customers and overseas agents as requested.

•      Perform other logistics duties as necessary.

Qualifications:

•      Minimum of 2 years in a logistics role

•      Proven organizational, problem solving, and time management skills for this fast-paced department

•      Ability to multi-task

•      Proven ability to handle high volumes and meet deadlines

•      Knowledge of customs regulations and US import operational procedures, including Harmonized Tariff Schedules and Customs Duties, and other Import costs.

•      Knowledge of wholesale and e-commerce businesses, a plus

•      Excel, Microsoft Proficiency
