Cochran is looking to hire an experienced Geotechnical Engineer to join our team. This candidate could work out of our Wentzville, Union, Kansas City, Ozark, or Fenton, Missouri office.
A successful candidate will be highly motivated and experienced in various aspects of geotechnical engineering, including the planning and implementation of subsurface field investigations, laboratory testing to determine engineering characteristics of soil and rock, familiarity with geotechnical design methods, and the preparation of geotechnical reports.
Central to the position is the ability to evaluate existing soil conditions and provide recommendations and design characteristics for foundations, subgrade remediation methods, slope and global stability analyses, retaining wall systems, and other geotechnical aspects of a project. Experience with construction testing and working with onsite construction personnel to resolve soils- and materials-related concerns on active construction projects is highly preferred.
Position Responsibilities:
- Development of geotechnical subsurface exploration proposals and reports
- Review and application of laboratory testing and analyses
- Design and analysis of retaining walls, reinforced slopes, soil parameters for adequate foundation support
- Development of construction recommendations and best practices
- Conduct periodic construction site visits
- Review of daily observation reports from materials testing field personnel
