About the Role

As an Electrical Construction Project Engineer II/III, you will be responsible for the coordination, planning, and execution of project operations to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and alignment with project goals within the Special Projects team. Assists with various administrative and operational tasks throughout the project lifecycle, helping to maintain schedules, documentation, communication, and compliance with company standards.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Gather necessary project data to support accurate material selection, dimensional coordination, and integration of owner- or third-party-supplied information
  • Maintain and track jobsite documentation, including RFIs, ASIs, change orders, and other project-related revisions
  • Coordinate with other trades to align efforts and ensure proper documentation is shared across disciplines
  • Prepare and manage submittals, construction schedules, and Operations & Maintenance (O&M) manuals
  • Estimate and track quantities, and prepare change orders in response to scope modifications
  • Monitor and document quality assurance processes, maintaining logs and addressing any identified issues
  • Participate in project meetings as assigned, contributing to communication, planning, and status updates


To perform the job of Project Engineer II successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following additional duties in addition to all of the Project Engineer I requirements.

  • Manage the full lifecycle of material and tool procurement, including ordering, releasing, receiving, and tracking to support project needs.
  • Update and distribute revised drawings to ensure all stakeholders have access to the most current project documentation
  • Estimate project impacts, prepare documentation, and maintain accurate tracking of all change orders
  • Develop, implement, and monitor quality assurance procedures, including the maintenance of QA logs and resolution of identified issue


To perform the job of Project Engineer III successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following additional duties in addition to all of the Project Engineer I & II requirements.

  • Manage project changes by estimating, preparing, and tracking change orders; develop actionable implementation plans and communicate updates clearly to both field teams and clients
  • Evaluate new or updated project information to accurately identify and document cost impacts
  • Oversee scheduling, subcontract issuance, and performance tracking to ensure alignment with project timelines and milestones
  • Monitor and assess subcontractor and vendor performance, maintaining accountability and supporting project quality and delivery standards

We are looking for someone with the following competencies:

  • High school diploma required; a two-year college or university certificate is preferred. Two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is acceptable
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; capable of writing routine reports and correspondence; effective speaker in front of groups; fluent in written and spoken English
  • Proficient in basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
  • Able to follow instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form; demonstrates sound reasoning and common-sense judgment in solving problems with multiple variables in standardized situations
  • For Project Engineer I: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, spreadsheets, and basic project management software
  • For Project Engineer II: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, spreadsheets, and estimating tools; actively developing knowledge of financial, management, and labor tracking software
  • For Project Engineer III: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, spreadsheets, estimating, financial, management, and labor tracking software
  • No certifications or licenses are required for this position
  • PE I has no supervisory responsibilities; PE II may oversee Level I staff; PE III may oversee Levels I and II


Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • May occasionally work near moving mechanical parts or in outdoor weather conditions on active construction sites
  • Noise levels are typically moderate but may vary depending on the environment

  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Must be able to frequently lift/move up to 10 lbs and occasionally up to 25 lbs

Compensation (Pay Range): $80,000-105,000/year (Exempt)


An employee's compensation level within the range will be based on several factors, including but not limited to geographic location, experience, relevant education, qualifications, skills, organizational needs, and performance.
