What are the responsibilities and job description for the Housekeeper position at Cobblestone Hotel & Suites?
The Paxton Cobblestone Hotel and Suites is seeking to hire 1-2 new Housekeepers to join our team.
We list this position as part time because its based up on the number of rooms rented the night before which is greatly unpredictable. When schedule is made on Fridays we list the number of estimated rooms on the schedule and we can often update the hskprs the day before if they are on "float/call"
Housekeeping is the back bone of the hotel and a vital part of the hotel team!
Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain guest rooms, common areas, and public spaces of the hotel
- Perform general housekeeping duties such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and making beds
- Ensure all areas are kept clean and sanitized according to hotel standards
- Restock supplies in guest rooms and public areas
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the housekeeping management
- Assist guests with any requests or inquiries in a friendly and professional manner
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while performing duties
Experience:
- Previous experience in industrial cleaning, custodial work, or housekeeping in a hotel setting is preferred
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and use of cleaning equipment
- Familiarity with floor care and maintenance is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication and customer service skills
Additional Information:
Minimum age to work here is 20- due to the fact that alcohol may be found inside guestrooms and need disposed of.
Cross training to learn Breakfast Shift or Bar shift is an option.
Be able to lift a minimum 50 pounds (may have to change a bed skirt and lift a mattress)
Need to be able to walk up and down stairs- we have no elevator
Cleaning guestrooms is a timed work shift. 30 minutes per room is standard requirement.
