Pool Monitor
Reports to: Family Plan Manager
Supervises: Pool attendees
Classification: Part Time
Job Summary (Essential Functions)
We are looking for someone to project a welcoming environment. Welcoming and tracking
members and their guests as they arrive and leave from the pool area. Additional tasks include
keeping towels stocked and ready, as well as assisting the waiting staff by picking up trash and
removing the garbage when full.
Job Tasks/Duties
- Record admission of pool members by writing their valid membership tag numbers on the appropriate Seasonal or Daily log sheet.
- Calculate the admission fees for guests of members, and record on the appropriate log sheet while adhering to the guest guidelines and enforcing them if necessary.
- Communicate pool rules and policies in a professional and courteous manner to patrons.
- Provide a welcoming environment for all patrons. Maintain positive rapport and professional image with patrons. Answer questions on pool programs, special events, and registration.
- Perform maintenance duties as directed by a superior (e.g., put out fresh towels, pick up litter, empty trash cans, etc.)
- Report major infractions of rules to Family Plan Manager
- Complete other assignments as required.
- Able to work well in a child-friendly environment
- Assist the service staff if needed
Qualifications:
Education and/or Experience
- Prior pool monitor experience (preferred)
Job Knowledge, Core Competencies, and Expectations
- Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions; skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.
- Checks in and tracks all incoming and outgoing pool guests
- Knowledge and ability to perform the required role during emergency situations.
Licenses and Special Requirements
- CPR certified
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach.
- Push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds.
- Continuous repetitive motions.
- Work in hot, humid and noisy environment
