What are the responsibilities and job description for the CIRCULATOR position at COASTAL ORTHOPEDICS & SPORTS MEDICINE?

- Prepare the patient for surgery by positioning them correctly, ensure proper draping, and confirm the surgical site and procedure. Ensure that operative and informed consents are signed and correct.
- Communicate with the surgeon, anesthesia providers, and other members of the surgical team to ensure smooth workflow and address any issues that may arise
- Record all aspects of the surgery, including vital signs, medications administered, and any complications that occur. Assess patients’ post-operative condition.
- Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout the surgical process. Log all findings in patient files.
- Maintain adequate supplies and equipment, including instruments, linens, and medications. Monitor patients for condition changes, reporting any changes to physician.
- Perform intervention duties during post-operative emergencies.
Qualifications:
- Current Florida Registered Nurse license and BCLS & ACLS certification required.
- Candidate must possess general clinical competency in acute patient care
- Candidate must demonstrate aptitude for maintaining pace of abbreviated patient encounters, keeping patient flow to two hour or less stay in post-operative care.
- Candidate must demonstrate ability to gather pertinent medical history and provide concise instruction for pre-operative and post-operative care.
- Specialized knowledge, skill and abilities in empirical & practical perioperative nursing.
- Advanced knowledge in critical care practice of nursing.
- Previous ambulatory surgery experience is preferred
