Mandatory Requirements - Must Meet All Three to Be Considered
- U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a DOE Q Clearance
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (ABET-accredited) with 6 years of experience OR 14 years of equivalent industry experience
- Willingness to work 100% onsite in Los Alamos, NM - no hybrid or remote
- Oversee field construction activities to ensure conformance with approved drawings, specifications, and regulatory codes
- Lead coordination between design engineers, field personnel, and contractors to resolve technical issues in real time
- Mentor junior engineers and field staff in project execution, compliance, and best practices
- Conduct material take-offs and ensure procurement aligns with project scope and schedule
- Identify and implement field process improvements to enhance safety, efficiency, and quality
- Apply advanced knowledge of ASME, NEC, ACI, and other applicable technical codes and standards throughout project execution
Required
- Advanced knowledge of construction engineering principles and field verification practices
- Demonstrated experience resolving complex technical challenges during active project execution
- Strong proficiency with ASME, NEC, ACI, and related codes and standards
- Proven leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Bachelor's in Engineering (ABET-accredited) and 6 years of relevant experience, or 14 years of equivalent industry experience
- EIT or PE licensure
- Familiarity with DOE and LANL standards including Conduct of Engineering and the Engineering Standards Manual (ESM)
- Experience in nuclear, laboratory, or other high-consequence project environments
- Background in electrical, mechanical, or glovebox installation systems
