We are looking for an experienced HDD Drill Locator to work alongside one of our drill operators installing underground conduit for fiber optic cable.

This is not an entry-level position. Previous locating experience is required.

What You'll Do

• Locate and guide horizontal directional drill heads during underground bores
• Assist with bores up to approximately 1,500 feet
• Maintain accurate drill paths while avoiding existing utilities
• Set up and verify locating equipment
• Communicate continuously with the Drill Operator
• Read utility locate marks and construction plans
• Help expose existing utilities using a mini excavator when needed
• Keep accurate records of completed work
• Support the crew with daily setup and cleanup
• Follow all company safety procedures

• Minimum 3 years of HDD locating experience
• Minimum 3 years operating mini excavators
• Experience locating underground utility bores for fiber optic or utility construction
• Strong understanding of underground utility locating
• Ability to read utility locate markings and plans
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
• Ability to lift 75 pounds
• Reliable transportation
• Strong communication skills
