Part Time - City Driver

Position Overview: This role involves picking up and delivering freight between Service Centers and customers while supporting sales efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate tractor-trailer combinations, including doubles, triples, or straight trucks.
• Perform daily safety and pre-trip inspections.
• Hook/unhook trailers and converter dollies.
• Handle freight using motorized/manual equipment and secure cargo with pallets, straps, and ropes.
• Verify documentation, adhere to hazardous material regulations, and manage freight charges.
• Communicate with dispatch and customers regarding deliveries, delays, and needs.
• Provide customer service and identify opportunities for additional business.
• May perform tire chaining and duties of road drivers or dock employees as needed.
• Comply with laws, regulations, and company policies.
  
  

Qualifications & Skills

• Class A CDL with double/triple, hazardous materials, and tank endorsements.
• At least one year of recent driving experience or completion of a FedEx Freight Driver Development Course.
• Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record and compliance with DOT regulations.
• Ability to perform basic math, lift up to 100 pounds, and operate in various weather conditions.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
  
  

Working Conditions: Driving in diverse weather and road conditions, exposure to noise, vibration, dust, fumes, and hazardous materials. Endorsement for hazardous materials must be obtained within 120 days.
