Medical Receptionist

Job summary

The primary function of this position is to serve patients by greeting and helping them; scheduling appointments; and maintaining patient demographics on accounts.

Summary of essential job functions

• Check in and process all patients
• Verify essential patient demographic information (i.e. address, phone number, insurance information) on all patients
• Comfort patients/parents by anticipating patients’/parents’ anxieties; answer patients’/parents’ questions; maintain reception area
• Protect patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information
• Assist with appointments for patients
• Make copies of insurance card and scan into patient chart
• Process charges, payment and daily receipt balancing
• Greet all patients with a smile and a good morning or good afternoon
• Other job duties as assigned

Abilities required

• Ability to sit up for 8 hours daily
• Maintain confidentiality in matters regarding the Clinic, its patients and employees
• Ability to be truthful and be seen as credible in the workplace
• Ability to accept responsibility and account for actions
• Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task
• Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
• Ability to prioritize and plan work activities and use time efficiently
• Ability to communicate effectively with others clearly and concisely

Pay: $11.50 - $12.25 per hour
