Job summary
The primary function of this position is to serve patients by greeting and helping them; scheduling appointments; and maintaining patient demographics on accounts.
Summary of essential job functions
- Check in and process all patients
- Verify essential patient demographic information (i.e. address, phone number, insurance information) on all patients
- Comfort patients/parents by anticipating patients’/parents’ anxieties; answer patients’/parents’ questions; maintain reception area
- Protect patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal and financial information
- Assist with appointments for patients
- Make copies of insurance card and scan into patient chart
- Process charges, payment and daily receipt balancing
- Greet all patients with a smile and a good morning or good afternoon
- Other job duties as assigned
Abilities required
- Ability to sit up for 8 hours daily
- Maintain confidentiality in matters regarding the Clinic, its patients and employees
- Ability to be truthful and be seen as credible in the workplace
- Ability to accept responsibility and account for actions
- Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task
- Ability to perform work accurately and thoroughly
- Ability to prioritize and plan work activities and use time efficiently
- Ability to communicate effectively with others clearly and concisely
