Aseptic Mechanic-Maintenance

Dayshift Position

Experience Required:

Five years related experience and/or training in Industrial Food Processing machinery or similar

equipment; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Job Summary:

This position entails performing preventive maintenance, installation, repairs, troubleshooting and assembling of machinery and mechanical equipment. This position ensures equipment operates safely, efficiently and in compliance with procedures followed with quality, food safety regulatory standards, Hot Works and HACCP.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Ensures that preventative maintenance on equipment is be executed and properly documented

 Preforms all tasks necessary to insure sterility of the process. Inspects and monitors all aseptic systems while the plant is in operation.

 Assist supervisor and operators in equipment start-up, shut down and CIP, air test, hydrotest, and

sterilize all vessels involving aseptic conditions within the plant, including fillers, and Flash Coolers.

 Cleans, repairs, rebuilds, and sterilizes all aseptic pumps and other aseptic equipment.

 Ensure all maintenance and lubrication of equipment is being performed on a daily basis.

 Repairs or replaces defective parts

 Assists in line cleanup operations as directed

 Analyzes and resolves mechanical problems, or assist workers in solving equipment problems.

 Recommends and applies measures to improve electrical and mechanical equipment methods to

improve performance.

 Conduct thorough shift pass down with oncoming Mechanics.

 Filing all paperwork at the end of the shift, and as required.

 Verify that all paperwork is correct and corresponds with the repair being done

 Performs sanitation tasks involving grounds and equipment cleaning

 Conduct sanitation after maintenance duties.

 Lubricates and cleans parts

 Perform other duties as necessary.

Qualifications - Knowledge, skills and abilities:

 Read, write and speak English (Bilingual preferred).

 Have knowledge of Tomato Processing including evaporation, sterilization and aseptic systems.

 Must have knowledge in the operation of equipment: drill press, grinder, and other

metalworking tools to make and repair parts

 Must have the skills to weld with any of these: STICK, TIG and/or MIG welders, sanitary welding.

 Complete the company forklift safety and training course

 Have basic electrical skills to assist in troubleshooting of equipment

 Flexible and willing to take on new tasks and duties.

 Ability to function in a team environment. Able to work overtime as needed

 Good written and verbal skills required/Able to organize work and manage time; able to multi-task.

 Able to effectively operator a computer and use Micro-soft office products; proficiency in Excel
