Project Engineer – Mechanical- Power Generation (Execution Team)
The Woodlands, TX- Up to 75% Travel
Our client, a leading electrical utilities firm, is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to support the execution of large-scale power generation capital projects.
In this role, you’ll manage and coordinate all technical aspects of projects from engineering through construction, commissioning, and closeout. You’ll work closely with Project Management, Project Controls, EPC contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, compliantly, and to specification.
Candidates MUST have experience working on Combined Cycle Gas Turbines (CCGT), ideally with a focus on mechanical equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee contractor engineering performance and owner/contractor interfaces
- Review engineering designs for compliance with contracts, permits, codes, and standards
- Support or lead cross-functional teams across the full project lifecycle
- Manage engineering-related contracts and change management processes
- Support commissioning, system turnover, and performance testing
- Ensure compliance with safety, NERC, QA/QC, and documentation requirements
Requirements
- BS in Engineering (advanced degree preferred)
- 6 years of progressive experience in power generation engineering, EPC, construction, or operations (senior levels available for 10–12 years)
- Expertise in mechanical engineering discipline
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with large EPC contracts preferred
- PE and/or PMP strongly preferred
