POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for following patient menus accurately on the tray makeup line and for the proper cleaning and sanitation of soiled dishes, pots and pans. Also responsible for serving in the dining room. May be required to assist the cook.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Prepares salads, coffee, and desserts in accordance to meal schedules.
- Prepares late trays as required.
- Demonstrates the ability to properly load, unload and clean food cart.
- Collects and removes trash and garbage to designated containers.
- Cleans work areas, equipment, walls, cabinets, storage areas and other areas assigned in accordance with established procedures.
- Washes dishes, cookware, flatware and trays with efficiency and using approved procedures.
- Follows patient menus accurately in the tray makeup line.
- Unloads groceries and places them in appropriate locations.
- Demonstrates the ability to accurately operate dishwasher.
- Maintains adequate supplies are stocked in various areas of the kitchen, e.g. milk, juice, fruit, coffee, cups flatware, etc.
- Sweeps and mops dietary area and dish room.
- Provides a positive impression of the dietary department when serving the public in patient care areas and dining room.
- Wears a clean uniform, name badge and hair net.
- Performs any other duty as assigned.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
