Job Summary
The Dietary Manager at Seminole Nursing Home is a key leader responsible for overseeing the dietary department and ensuring the nutritional well-being of our residents. This role combines leadership, nutrition expertise, and operational management to provide high-quality, safe, and appealing meals that support health, recovery, and quality of life. The Dietary Manager will lead and mentor a dedicated dietary team, manage budgets, and collaborate closely with healthcare staff to implement individualized nutrition plans tailored to each resident’s needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily operations of the dietary department, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations, as well as Seminole Nursing Home standards.
- Develop and manage budgets for food services while ensuring cost-effective practices without compromising quality.
- Ensure meals are prepared and presented according to dietary guidelines, resident preferences, and clinical requirements.
- Recruit, train, and mentor dietary staff, promoting best practices in food safety, sanitation, and nutrition.
- Maintain accurate records of food service operations, including inventory, meal counts, and compliance documentation.
- Stay informed about trends and best practices in clinical nutrition and food service management to continually enhance resident care.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in managing or supervising dietary services in healthcare, assisted living, or institutional settings.
- Knowledge of food service operations, nutrition basics, and meal planning in alignment with resident health needs.
- Experience in budgeting, inventory management, and cost-effective food service practices.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals, including a contracted dietitian, to support individualized resident care plans.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and motivate dietary staff.
- Familiarity with food safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance in a healthcare setting.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records and ensure high-quality meal service.
