Job Type : Full Time Location : Fort Lauderdale, Florida Pay : Competitive Pay & Benefits! Job Description What you will be doing:
  • Work in concert with the Engineering Services team using design tools to bridge the gap across different disciplines.
  • Ensure the success of the construction teams by aligning all digital files and drawings across different disciplines.
  • Participate in cross-functional problem-solving as a key component of daily responsibilities.
  • Review drawings from multiple engineers to ensure constructability and analyze digital design files.
  • Familiarize yourself with utility-scale solar project designs, including single-line drawings, civil, structural, electrical site plans, DC and AC wiring diagrams, and equipment layout.
  • Understand civil and structural engineering design drawings and their design implications.
  • Design different parts of a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) or Solar PV power plant using 3D modeling software.
  • Understand construction applications of solar power plant design including PV string sizing, DC and AC conductor and conduit sizing, and racking/tracker design and powering.
  • Have direct experience with solar and battery storage equipment, including solar panels, inverters/transformers, racking systems, and battery systems.
  • Review scope of work documents and analyze the design implications of different requirements.
  • Own portions of the project lifecycle from design to construction support.
  • Provide mentorship and support to junior team members on the Engineering Team.
  • Travel across the country to perform site visits and provide technical support to construction teams.
  • Support field teams with various technical design requests.
  • Work as part of a team and ensure effective documentation and problem resolution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience you will need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical field, or related discipline is required - a civil and environmental engineering degree is preferred.
  • 0-1 years' experience for Project Engineer and 2 years' experience for Senior Project Engineer in the solar construction industry or direct engineering management on solar construction projects - solar experience is required.
  • Knowledge of electrical design, materials, and methods of construction in power systems.
  • Proven ability to work across multiple systems and manage design documentation.
  • Familiarity with CAD workflows and construction standards.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Knowledge of QGIS or other GIS software is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Autodesk Fusion or other 3D Design software is a plus.
  • Thorough knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and the National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) as it relates to utility-scale power plants is a plus.
  • Good communication and presentation skills, including the ability to organize and present complex technical information effectively in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Highly organized and able to multitask multiple projects at once.
