Position Summary: CMT is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to manage the day-to-day financial transactions of our active projects in Carolina and nearby regions. This
person will be the "bridge" between our field teams and our CPA Director, ensuring every project is profitable and compliant.
Key Responsibilities:
- Job Costing: Track costs for each construction project separately. Monitor labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Code and enter all field receipts, material invoices, and labor hours to specific projects using [QuickBooks/ Contract Foreman]. Compare actual costs against project budgets. Report cost overruns to management.
- AR Management: Monitor contract values, change orders, and retention amounts. Generate progress billings based on worked completed or the Schedule of Values (SOV) according to contract payment terms. Collect and follow up payments on timely basis. Maintain accurate customer account records.
- AP Management: Process and review reasonableness of invoices and reimbursement receipts on daily basis, prepare AP aging list on weekly basis, and process subcontractor payments upon receipt of signed Lien Waivers.
- Field Documentation: Review field reports and/or discuss with filed leadership to verify milestone completion before invoicing.
- Cash Flows Management: Prepare cash flow forecasts. Monitor cash inflows and outflows.
- Asset Management: Maintain records of construction equipment and machinery. Monitor asset purchases, transfers, and disposals. Track depreciation.
- Compliance and Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with accounting standards and company policies. Maintain supporting documentation for all transactions. Assist with internal and external audits. Help prevent fraud by implementing proper financial controls.
Requirements:
- Experience: 3 years in hands-on Accounting (Essential).
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
· Language: Bilingual in English and Chinese is preferred as for frequent communication with stakeholders
- Tech-Savvy: *Proficiency in Microsoft Office Apps, construction-specific system and accounting system are preferred
- Local Knowledge: Familiarity with monthly NC/SC Sales & Use Tax filings and annual 1099 Tax filings for contractors is a major plus.

Compensation &* Benefits:*
- Target Salary: $68,000 – $82,000.
