CMK Resources is looking for a Project Manager for one of our partners in Ypsilanti, MI. This is a 6-month Contract-to-Hire opportunity and will be 100% onsite.
This role will support the buildout and maturation of an IT PMO while leading enterprise-level technology projects across business and IT teams. The ideal candidate will bring strong project governance, stakeholder management, Agile leadership, and hands-on IT project delivery experience.
**Active PMP through PMI and a degree are REQUIRED**
Responsibilities:
- Lead project management efforts for assigned enterprise IT projects
- Create, refine, update, and manage project plans with business and IT stakeholders
- Define project milestones, dependencies, deliverables, risks, and timelines
- Track action items across project phases including discovery, design, planning, development, QA, deployment, and closeout
- Facilitate project kickoff meetings with business and IT stakeholders to align goals, expectations, deliverables, dependencies, and requirements
- Partner closely with business representatives, executive sponsors, application owners, vendors, and IT teams to drive timely status updates and task completion
- Develop RACI documentation to define project roles and responsibilities
- Lead project teams, monitor progress, track KPIs, manage budgets, and resolve project issues
- Prepare and present project reports, status updates, and recommendations for improvement
- Support project financial planning, budget tracking, procurement, purchase orders, and SOW development
- Manage project prioritization to improve delivery efficiency and support business growth
- Assist in removing project roadblocks and blockers
- Help organize and mature PMO processes, governance, documentation, and best practices
- Train, guide, and mentor teams on Agile practices and project management standards
Required Qualifications:
- 10 years of hands-on experience leading enterprise-level programs and projects
- Active PMP certification through PMI is required
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Strong experience managing IT projects from planning through execution and closeout
- Strong understanding of IT technologies including hardware, software, networking, applications, and cloud computing
- Experience bridging technical IT teams and business stakeholders
- Working knowledge and experience leading Agile projects or Agile transformation efforts
- Experience with project budgeting, procurement, financial reporting, purchase orders, and SOW support
- Strong analytical, coordination, documentation, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple complex projects under tight timelines
- Strong communication, diplomacy, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to interact with a wide variety of personalities in a constructive and professional manner
- Collaborative, positive, and team-oriented approach
- Ability to mentor others through servant leadership
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience helping build, mature, or improve a PMO
- Experience in airline, transportation, logistics, or highly regulated enterprise environments
- Strong resource planning and problem-solving skills
