We are looking to fill this role immediately, primarily at our Middleton/HQ location (The Villages) and Clearwater office, though we are also open to candidates interested in our Orlando or Ocala offices.
Job Description
As an Engineer III, you will contribute to complex civil engineering projects by performing advanced design, field work, and technical documentation. You will support licensed engineers while developing your expertise and preparing for future licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE). This role is ideal for an experienced civil engineer with advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and a strong foundation in civil design and construction.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria for projects with complex features.
Perform advanced engineering calculations and design tasks for civil projects, including stormwater earthworks, residential/commercial sites, roadways, utilities, and drainage systems.
Prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates, permit applications, schedules, and other project documentation.
Work under moderate supervision with general review of completed work, applying sound professional judgment.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, contractors, regulatory agencies, and internal project members, to ensure project success.
Assist with onboarding and mentoring newer team members.
Communicate effectively in oral and written forms, manage conflicts professionally, and participate in official communications for project assignments and meetings.
Progressively take on more responsibility and leadership as skills and experience develop.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET/EAC-accredited program.
Engineer-in-Training (EI) certification required; working toward PE licensure preferred.
2 years of engineering experience in civil design and/or construction preferred.
Advanced proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, StormWise, Bentley hydraulic modeling programs, or similar tools.
Knowledge of engineering standards, specifications, and regulations.
