We are looking to fill this role at our Middleton/HQ, Clearwater, Ocala, or Wildwood offices.
Job Description
As a Surveyor I (SIT), you will apply standard surveying methods and procedures while gaining exposure to both field and office operations. Working under the guidance of licensed surveyors and senior staff, this role offers hands-on experience in data collection, drafting, and project documentation. The position is ideal for an individual early in their career who is actively working toward professional licensure and eager to develop a strong technical foundation in land surveying.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform assigned tasks using standard surveying methods and procedures.
Assist in data collection, including boundary, topographic, right-of-way, and construction survey data.
Support drafting and preparation of survey drawings, sketches, and legal descriptions.
Follow established surveying standards, best practices, and company policies.
Consistently meet deadlines and budget expectations for assigned tasks.
Collaborate with team members to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and quality.
Build foundational knowledge and progressively assume greater responsibility as skills develop.
Qualifications:
Surveyor in Training (SIT) certification preferred; candidates should be actively on track to obtain professional licensure.
Associate degree or coursework in surveying, geomatics, or a related discipline preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Exposure to survey/CAD platforms such as Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, or similar.
Strong communication and teamwork skills with a commitment to accuracy, organization, and quality.
Additional Details:
This is a full-time position that includes both field and in-office work to provide a comprehensive understanding of the full surveying process from data collection to final deliverables.
