Responsibilities
- Deliver direct support services tailored to each individual’s unique needs, including assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), personal care, and medication administration.
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Assist individuals with communication needs or other alternative methods, fostering effective social interactions.
- Collect and document data related to progress, behaviors, and service delivery to support ongoing planning and reporting requirements.
- Support individuals in community outings, transportation, and recreational activities by driving safely and ensuring their well-being throughout engagements.
- Collaborate with families, social workers, healthcare providers, and team members to develop and implement individualized care plans that promote independence.
- Maintain accurate records of services provided, medication administration, incident reports, and other documentation necessary for compliance and quality assurance.
Requirements
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), or other disabilities in home or community settings.
- Knowledge of special education principles and behavioral health strategies for supporting individuals with diverse needs.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with individuals of varying abilities as well as team members and families.
- Ability to assist with ADLs such as grooming, dressing, feeding, and mobility support.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience driving clients safely preferred.
- Familiarity with medication administration procedures and data collection methods related to client care.
- Experience working in caregiving roles such as childcare or social work is a plus; certifications in behavioral health or related fields are advantageous. Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
