About the Role:
The Laborer supports daily recycling operations by inspecting, sorting, and processing materials to ensure efficient and safe production. This role is essential in maintaining workflow, recovering reusable materials, and keeping the facility clean and compliant with safety standards.
Responsibilities:

- Inspects materials and sorts items or materials into piles or places in bins or barrels according to type, size, condition, coloring, marking, or other characteristics
- Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits
- Operate machinery used in the production process or assist equipment operators
- Load and unload items from machines, conveyor and conveyances
- Moves reusable materials to production department or storage
- Separates metal particles from waste
- Cleaning which includes; sweeping and shoveling residual waste from process
- Removes waste materials from conveyor
- Other duties may be assigned
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One year minimum experience in a heavy industrial setting or equivalent combination of education and experience
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Normal work environment is outdoors, with exposure to all weather conditions, dirt, high levels of noise, smells/odors and at times exposure to dangerous and/or toxic substances requiring necessary precautions, including PPE.
The physical demands described here are representative of those which must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
- Work is performed primarily in an industrial plant environment with exposure to noise, odors, dust, and varying temperatures
- Regular presence on the plant floor, including walking, standing, climbing stairs, and navigating operating equipment
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as required
- Must wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with all safety policies and procedures
- May require extended or flexible hours to support operational needs
