Hours: 2:30 pm - 1:00 am - Monday thru Thursday 10 HOUR SHIFTS- Overtime Friday Mandatory
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Material Handler is responsible for moving required material within operations/warehouse utilizing a fork truck and/or manually to prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship). This is a warehouse operations position under the supervision of the Production Supervisor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Receive and process warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label, store).
Understand and identify all components that comprise the finished product as described in the SDI handbook.
Perform inventory controls and keep quality standards high for audits.
Complete diary logs into inventory and report any discrepancies to supervisor.
Communicate and cooperate with supervisors and coworkers, and internal customers to ensure efficient movement of materials to required areas.
Operate and preventively maintain warehouse vehicles and equipment.
Physically counts inventory using manual or automatic methods (scales and scanners).
Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Leadership Team to support company goals.
Participation in Mesker Safety Program.
Based on proficiency, it may be required to train in Material Handling duties.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Operate simple hand or power tools.
Handle materials such as metal, etc.
Must be able to lift to 75 pounds repetitively.
Must be able to push and/or pull carts up to 75 pounds.
Must use and be able to work with required PPE.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
Must be able to perform repetitive tasks such as twisting, pushing, pulling, and reaching.
The noise level of the warehouse is moderate to loud.
Based on proficiency could work under heavy to limited supervision.
Uphold all safety standards applicable to the responsibilities above.
Must be able to work in a non-temperature-controlled environment.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
Forklift experience preferred.
Must be able to sit for long periods while operating a lift truck as well as climb into and out of the seating area of the lift truck.
Must be able to understand and follow both verbal and written instructions and standard work tickets.
Must possess basic computer skills, basic math skills required, proven measurement and mathematical fraction/decimal conversion skills.
Must be able to work independently as well as in a group environment.
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Must demonstrate basic problem-solving skills.
Good organizational skills related to managing paperwork and time.
