Position Overview:
This position is responsible for performing activities using the Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding process. To accomplish this, the Metal Fabricator uses experience and expertise to join various types of metals, such as steel or stainless steel.

Essential Job Functions:

• Use gas tungsten arc equipment as part of the fabrication process
• Install or repair metal components
• Use grinding and polishing equipment in the final process
• Follow blueprints, diagrams, or technical schematics
• Read and interpret production drawings
• Prepare materials, to include cutting metal components to appropriate size and shape
• Set up welding equipment, including gas tanks, torches, and regulators
• Operate welding machines, tools, and equipment
• Follow safety protocols and wear personal protective equipment (PPE) while welding
• Maintain inventory of welding supplies and equipment
• Perform welding repairs on a variety of metals
• Ensure high quality standards of welded materials
• Assist with other fabrication projects as required

Experience:

• Metal Fabrication experience: 3 years (Required)
• TIG welding: 3 years (Required)
• Experience welding nitrided steel preferred
• Blueprint reading: 2 years (Required)
• Fabrication: 2 years (Required)

Warehouse: 1 year (Required)

Skills:

• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
• Understanding of welding safety practices and procedures
• Willingness to work flexible hours and overtime when necessary

Experience:

• Highschool Diploma or Equivalent Required.
• Certification in TIG welding techniques

Physical Demands:

• The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Must be able to work within hot environment.
• This position includes use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Proper use of PPE is required.

Drug-Free Workplace:

• All applicants must be able to pass an in-house drug screening on the first day of orientation.

Work environment may cause Employees to come into contact with various metal particulates such as nickel, cobalt, iron, and Tungsten Carbide.
