Title: Payment Systems Business Analyst / Product Owner

Employment Type: Full-Time / Contract-to-Hire

Location: Lincolnshire, IL

Rate : 45$/hr on W2

We are seeking an experienced Payment Systems Business Analyst/Product Owner to lead payment processor and gateway implementations across retail POS, e-commerce, mobile, kiosk, and call-center channels.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gather and document business and technical payment requirements.
• Define payment flows for authorization, settlement, refunds, chargebacks, and reconciliation.
• Manage the product backlog, user stories, acceptance criteria, and Agile ceremonies.
• Lead payment processor and gateway implementations from discovery through go-live.
• Coordinate integrations involving REST APIs, webhooks, tokenization, 3DS, and digital wallets.
• Monitor authorization rates, declines, processing costs, settlement accuracy, and vendor performance.
• Support payment optimization, routing, failover, reconciliation, and incident-resolution initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with PCI-DSS and other applicable security and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications:

• 8–10 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Product Owner, or Product Manager within payments or fintech.
• Full-cycle payment processor or gateway implementation experience.
• Strong retail POS, EMV, NFC, mPOS, e-commerce, mobile payments, and digital wallet experience.
• Experience with multi-vendor payment environments, payment APIs, and payment abstraction layers.
• Knowledge of card-present/card-not-present payments, ACH, tokenization, chargebacks, settlement, and reconciliation.
• Proficiency with Agile/Scrum, Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Experience with Stripe, Adyen, Braintree, Worldpay, Square, PayPal, Text-to-Pay, SQL, and multi-currency payments is preferred.
