Description:

The Operator position is an entry level position requiring experience and skill in following standard operating procedures, working standards, label standards, and all EHS and Food Safety requirements. The primary focus is the continuous production of quality products, reduction of downtime, ensuring equipment issues are reported to the Production Tech, and continuous flow of product into boxes.  Responsible for working with all departments to ensure problems are identified and resolved quickly.  This position will report directly to the Production Supervisor.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Packs and properly labels product based on customer orders and specifications.
2. Minimizes waste and scrap; participates in problem solving efforts to make the area more efficient.
3. Utilizes Quality Control information to monitor product quality; reports issues to Supervisor.
4. Housekeeping-keeps work area clean; uses spare time constructively.
5. Promotes teamwork utilizing CSI team principles for working together.
6. Follow all procedures and SOP’s for the facility i.e., LTTV, GMP rules, etc.
7. Be aware of hazardous materials in the area and the proper handling of hazardous materials. 
8. Be aware of, understand, and follow emergency procedures.
9. Report all spills or other environmental incidents following EHS protocol.
10. Follow all food safety guidelines while on the manufacturing floor.
11. Report any deviation from food safety protocol to the functional responsible personnel.
12. Each employee will do one bi-annual Quality/GMP Job Observation located on the EHS website.
13. Complies with all OPEX (Operational Excellence) policies, procedures, and guidelines required of them in their current role; completes all required training, audits, and compliance tools.

15. Ensure that where applicable the supply chain is made aware of their food safety obligations as our partner in the quest to deliver a safe product to the consuming public.

Educational and Other Skill Requirements:
•    High school diploma or its equivalent GED or two to three years experience in a manufacturing environment.
•    Basic reading and writing skills required.
•    Ability to receive and retain training on established quality standards and production processes.  
•    Experience in or with familiar with an inspecting process and quality standards.
•    Ability to receive and retain on-the-job training. 
•    Must have above average communication skills.  
•    Must have a high attention span. 
•    Must have decision-making abilities and follow-up techniques.  
•    Knowledge of or ability to learn CSI Quality process. Ability to successfully pass required pre-employment testing.
