What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Manager, Earn and Learn position at Cleveland State University and Careers?
Recruits and manages external relationships with employers for the Earn and Learn Program. Supports workforce development by building Employer-University partnerships. Engages employers to upskill and retain their workforce by providing educational opportunities needed for advancement at CSU and creates path for the future development of internships and co-ops for CSU students at those companies. Provides orientation, advising, and programing for students in the program. Coordinates and performs a variety of administrative and operational activities that support the program. Develops, coordinates and organizes recruiting and other related events for this program. Works individually and in groups with students in Earn and Learn preparation. Manages relationships with Earn and Learn employers. Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferably in business administration, marketing, communications or related field.
- Three (3) years of experience in student related service area in education, workforce development, stakeholder relations, or related organization.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to establish and maintain driver eligibility under the CSU’s Driving and Motor Vehicle Policy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree preferably in business administration, marketing, communications or related field.
- Three (3) years of experience in higher education advising, stakeholder relations, workforce development, career services, co-op, or in a student related service area.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
- Ability to work effectively across a broad spectrum of the CSU community.
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships with external and internal partners; effective at initiating outreach campaigns to potential partners.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, organizational skills, and decision-making abilities.
- Possess strong public speaking skills.
- Ability to build and maintain professional relationships and work as an individual contributor and an effective team player, in addition to being highly organized, self-directed, and forward-thinking.
- Ability to effectively engage with team members when issues arise to ensure appropriate communication and develop effective resolution plans.
- Detail-oriented and capable of managing large amounts of data, maintain detailed comprehensive records, analyze, and organize information.
- Ability to motivate, coach and develop others.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, Teams, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel and work flexible and irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.
