The LPN Ambulatory Team Lead combines clinical and administrative expertise to support patients and the interdisciplinary care team under the guidance of a physician or nurse. In partnership with nursing leadership, this role helps coordinate daily operations within the Pediatrics Department. You will work closely with pediatric patients to deliver high-quality care across the full patient journey, engaging with patients, families, and visitors to enhance their experience while providing education, guidance, and ongoing support.
A caregiver in this position works at Main Campus from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Collect and document objective and subjective data and observations about the patient.
- Contribute observations and health information to the nursing assessment and reports all data to the RN or authorized directing health care provider.
- Implement the current plan of nursing care at the direction of the RN, or the medication or treatment authorized by the authorized directing health care provider.
- Document and verbally communicate the patient’s response to the nursing plan of care, or the medication or treatment including observing patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments and performing routine laboratory tests.
- Provide education and information to patients and family members.
- Participate in the departmental orientation of new employees in a positive manner, share knowledge, experiences, and provide guidance when assigned and provide feedback to nursing leadership.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, patient safety and HIPAA requirements and shares information with other team members.
- Assume a lead role in quality initiatives and process improvement to improve patient outcomes, patient experience, and patient safety.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Graduate from an approved school of Practical Nursing
- 3 years recent clinical experience as an LPN
- Current demonstrated clinical proficiency
- Current Ohio License as Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross required within new hire period
- Leadership experience
- Adult patient experience
Physical Requirements:
Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good hand-eye coordination, involves extensive standing, walking and occasional lifting.
Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.
Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Physical requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $24.25
Maximum hourly: $34.50
