Indian River Hospital is looking for a Director of Nursing who will oversee the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit (ICU). You will be responsible for the quality of care provided, safety and the performance of caregivers in these areas. This position will have two managers reporting to them and one administrative coordinator. The organization will be pursuing magnet designation, and this role will have a significant level of participation. You will also be involved in provider expansion as well as assisting with complex surgical care needs. You will be an integral member of nursing specialties, the Emergency Department and critical care nursing affinity groups within the regional and enterprise.

A caregiver in this position works days from 7:30AM – 4:30PM, including weekends and holidays.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Direct the organization, coordination and administration of patient care.
Serve as a resource to Nurse Managers, Clinical Specialists, educators and other nursing caregivers.
Oversee daily operations in conjunction with Nurse Managers.
Ensure that nursing and clinical practice are in accordance with the philosophy, standards and goals.
Assist with directing, coordinating and managing nursing areas.
Collaborate with the leadership team regarding budget review, personnel management, productivity monitoring and caregiver development.
Monitor adherence to Cleveland Clinic and the Nursing Institute’s policies and procedures.
Promote ongoing professional development of caregivers at all levels.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Master’s Degree
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Four years of recent clinical experience
One year of healthcare management experience
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Clinical experience in inpatient care, an emergency department or surgical services
Physical Requirements:
- Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects.
- Even though the weight lifted may be only a negligible amount, a job should be rated Light Work: (1) when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree; or (2) when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls; and/or (3) when the job requires working at a production rate pace entailing the constant pushing and/or pulling of materials even though the weight of those materials is negligible.
- Note: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible.

Pay Range
Minimum Annual Salary: $118,960.00
Maximum Annual Salary: $190,360.00
