Do you have a knack for helping people and keeping things organized? We're looking for a Customer Service Clerk to join our Violations Bureau and Civil department located in our beautiful Delray Beach Courthouse!
Violations Bureau
As a customer service clerk in the Violations Bureau, you will be on the front lines of delivering excellent service to the public. Whether it's answering questions about traffic citations, accepting payments, or setting court hearings, your calm demeanor and great communication skills will keep things running smoothly. You will have the exciting opportunity to gain complex knowledge on traffic citations, reinstating drivers licenses, misdemeanors cases, county ordinances, and much more!
Civil
As a Court Specialist customer service clerk in you will assist a wide-range of customers coming into the courthouse seeking assistance in relation to civil matters, i.e. passports, marriage licenses, filing civil cases and more! Among other duties, you will be tasked with accepting payments and answering customer inquiries via phone and email.

This position is eligible for a one dollar per hour stipend which has already been added to the salary advertised. The one dollar per hour stipend will be awarded upon completion of the introductory period. The stipend will no longer apply should the employee transfer out of this position.

FUNCTIONS SPECIFIC TO VIOLATIONS BUREAU AREA
High school diploma (or GED) supplemented by five (5) years of recent and relevant experience that demonstrates the ability to accurately apply acute attention to detail in maintenance of detailed data preferably in an automated systems environment; or an equivalent combination of education training and experience. Some vocational or college courses preferred. Once qualified deputization may be required to perform the assigned functions.

FUNCTIONS SPECIFIC TO VIOLATIONS BUREAU AREA
- Employees assigned to the Violations Bureau area perform the essential functions as outlined above as well as:
- Cashiers criminal traffic and ordinance violations; reinstates driver's licenses.
- Scans and updates over-the-counter citations.
- Sets court hearings.
- Provides statistical reports; runs collections process and payoff requests; performs other customer service related functions.
- Employees assigned to the Branch Court Services area perform the essential functions as outlined above as well as:
- Accepts documents for recording; identifies document type; verifies statutory requirements.
- Calculates and cashiers related taxes and fees; issues certified copies.
- Performs specialized recording tasks including the processing of Declaration of Domicile and Domestic Partnership.
- Scans documents; verifies legibility of documents scanned into the Official Records.
- Accepts VAB petitions and documents to be filed in existing County Civil cases.
- Processes e-filed documents.
- Cashiers criminal traffic and ordinance violations; reinstates driver's licenses.
- Scans and updates over-the-counter citations.
- Sets court hearings.
- Provides statistical reports; runs collections process and payoff requests; performs other customer service related functions.
- Assists Court Specialist Lead and management team with quality control overall departmental efficiency and procedural development as needed.
- Marriage license and ceremony duties: processes marriage licenses; generates and issues licenses; performs marriage ceremonies for all customers; cashiers related fees; records licenses into the Official Records.
