You may have heard… Cleo Bagels is growing! 

We are opening ~Little Bean~ at 5015 Baltimore Ave., next door to sister-shop Cleo Bagels. Little Bean will serve as an expansion of Cleo’s beverage program while providing additional seating, treats, and space for BYO Cleo. Opening in early January, 2026! In the meantime, we are hiring a team of baristas:

Job Summary: We are seeking reliable, thoughtful, talented folks with meaningful experience to join our team. Baristas will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, drink preparation, housemade syrups, quality control, everyday equipment care and maintenance, cleaning, & more.

Position Type: Full Time, weekend availability is a must!

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Customer Service
• Greet our customers and neighbors warmly, ensuring a positive experience
• Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly
• Be able to work in a fast paced environment
• Product Knowledge
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of our offerings while providing accurate information about ingredients and allergens to customers
• Make recommendations based on customer preferences, tastes, and input
• Provide customers with options and an experience tailored to their prefs
• Cash Handling
• Process customer transactions accurately and securely using cash register/point-of-sale
• Provide correct change and receipts 
• Beverage Preparation 
• Espresso grinder operation, including dialing in, weighing, and ensuring a good grind
• Espresso machine operation, including steaming milk well and latte art
• Expertly craft specialty drinks
• Brew drip coffee to spec throughout day as needed
• Preparing and maintaining inventory of syrups, iced coffee etc 
• Maintain Cleanliness
• Keep the bar and dining areas clean and organized to best support the customer experience, your team, and the overall flow of business
• Wash dishes and tidy throughout shift
• Shop will need to be cleaned, swept, and mopped at the close of each day
• Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines 
• Collaboration
• Communicate and work closely with team members to ensure smooth operations
• Communicate customer feedback and concerns to management
• Support your teammates by offering assistance when necessary
• Use ‘downtime’ collaboratively and effectively to stay prepared for busier times of the day
• Gain experience to better anticipate the needs of the day and your coworkers to ensure a smooth service 
• Inventory Management
• Stock and replenish retail items and supplies as needed 
• Notify leadership about inventory needs

QUALIFICATIONS

• Prior barista experience
• Knowledge of coffee & tea brewing
• Ability to operate equipment; espresso machine, coffee grinder 
• Excellent time management
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• An ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to keeping it clean and hygienic
• Basic math skills

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift heavy things 
• Ability to bend, kneel, go up and down stairs, and reach when necessary

• Pooled Tips: tips are 'pooled' and paid out through payroll based on total hours worked during the weeks in a pay period. After tips, wages typically range from $20-$22/hr
