Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounts Payable Specialist to join our accounting team. This position is responsible for processing invoices, managing vendor accounts, supporting month-end close activities, and ensuring all payments are handled accurately and on time. The ideal candidate has dealership accounting experience, strong organizational skills, and the ability to thrive in a high-volume environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and code invoices accurately in the dealership accounting system
- Match invoices to purchase orders and validate approvals
- Prepare and issue weekly payments, including checks and electronic payments
- Maintain vendor records and resolve discrepancies or billing issues
- Reconcile vendor statements and ensure accounts are current
- Support month-end closing activities and accounting reconciliation tasks
- Maintain organized records and ensure compliance with internal controls
- Communicate effectively with vendors and internal department managers
- Assist with other accounting tasks and special projects as needed
Qualifications
- Previous accounts payable experience required; dealership accounting experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Reliable, professional, and able to work independently
