Job Overview
The Farm Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in maintaining the reliability, safety, and efficiency of our farm operations. This position is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting across a variety of farm systems and equipment. Key Responsibilities

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical issues across farm systems, including electronic sow feeders, ventilation, plumbing, and heating systems

Perform routine preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life

Maintain and repair farm equipment such as tractors, mowers, rear blades, and related tools

Adhere to all safety standards, including lockout/tagout procedures and biosecurity protocols

Complete seasonal and outdoor tasks, including snow plowing, mowing, weed trimming, and general grounds maintenance

Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment; assist with pressure washing and facility cleaning as needed

Track, organize, and maintain parts, tools, and inventory to ensure maintenance readiness

Communicate maintenance needs, completed work, and potential issues clearly with farm leadership
Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required; 2 years of maintenance or related experience preferred

Electrical and welding experience strongly preferred

Valid driver’s license required

Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Comfortable working in varying weather conditions and farm environments

Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push up to 100 lbs
