What are the responsibilities and job description for the Custodian I position at Clay County?
Clay County is seeking a dependable and hardworking Part-Time Custodian I to help maintain County buildings, offices, facilities, vehicles, and grounds in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition.
This position is scheduled Monday through Friday for a four hour shift between 5:00 pm - 1:30 am at an hourly salary of $18.08.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning, including vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and restroom sanitation
- Empty trash and restock custodial supplies
- Clean offices, courtrooms, common areas, windows, and fixtures
- Operate custodial equipment and maintain cleaning supplies
- Assist with grounds upkeep and snow removal as needed
- Secure County buildings by locking/unlocking doors and managing lights
- Complete special cleaning and maintenance projects as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license and ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
- Ability to perform the physical duties associated with custodial work
- Ability to work independently and follow established safety procedures
