ABOUT CLATSOP COUNTY
Today Clatsop County is one of nine Home Rule counties in Oregon. Five non-partisan elected Commissioners set policy and appoint a full-time County Manager, who is responsible for daily operations. County services are provided through ten divisions: County Administration (County Manager), Assessment and Taxation, Budget and Finance, Community Development, County Clerk, Juvenile, Public Health, Public Works, and the District Attorney, and Sheriff’s Offices. The county also administers a road district, a rural law enforcement district, and a local sewer district. The Facilities Department reports to the county administration division.
THE POSITION
The purpose of this position is to provide seasonal support for the maintenance, installation, and repair of roads and bridges by assisting with regular, recurring, and routine tasks while receiving training and guidance in road maintenance operations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 18 years of age or older.
• Must possess and maintain driving privileges in the State of Oregon.
• Able to acquire a flagging certificate within 10 days of hire. (Onsite training provided
to acquire this).
• Any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training which provides the
required knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acceptable.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Certificates in work zone traffic control (flagging) and/ or first aid/ CPR.
• Previous Flagging experience
• Previous experience with road maintenance work in public works department.
• Completion of OSHA 10 training.
• Class A commercial drivers’ license or instruction (learners’) permit.
• Completion of heavy equipment school.
