$17.79 to $21.63 PER hour

 Wednesday – sunday 8 hrs/Day

ABOUT CLATSOP COUNTY                      

Today Clatsop County is one of nine Home Rule counties in Oregon. Five non-partisan elected Commissioners set policy and appoint a full-time County Manager, who is responsible for daily operations. County services are provided through ten divisions: County Administration (County Manager), Assessment and Taxation, Budget and Finance, Community Development, County Clerk, Juvenile, Public Health, Public Works, and the District Attorney, and Sheriff’s Offices. The county also administers a road district, a rural law enforcement district, and a local sewer district. The Facilities Department reports to the county administration division.

the position                                       

The purpose of this position is to assist in the maintenance and operation of County Park facilities by performing tasks related to the upkeep of grounds, trails, buildings, boat ramps, utility systems, and other recreational areas to ensure their safety and functionality.

Routinely, this position will perform grounds maintenance using lawnmowers, weed-eaters, leaf blowers, hedgers, chainsaws, and other small equipment. The position assists with the maintenance of trails and roadways and the performance of facility and utility maintenance activities such as , repairing and renovating park structures and systems. In addition, this position will be responsible for janitorial duties such as sweeping, cleaning, and disinfecting restrooms, picnic shelters, and  other park structures as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS                  

  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain driving privileges in the State of Oregon at the time of hire.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS                     

  • Training and experience in equipment operations and maintenance.
  • Grounds landscape maintenance and recreation maintenance experience.
  • Construction trade experience, such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and/or masonry.
  • Certification in first aid and CPR
