CLARK Material Handling Company a global leader in the material handling and forklift industry is seeking a qualified Industrial Maintenance Tech to work in our Lexington, KY Manufacturing facility on FIRST shift.
The Industrial Maintenance Technician will be responsible to perform routine maintenance of the manufacturing facility and equipment to ensure maximum production quantity and quality, while supporting the policies, goals, and objectives of the company. Will be responsible for troubleshooting equipment and machinery problems and continuously monitoring electrical and mechanical devices as part of a predictive and preventive maintenance plan.
Essential Functions:
- Troubleshoot and perform repairs and preventive maintenance as required to ensure equipment reliability.
- Responsible to maintain production equipment such as hoists, air compressors, sanding booth, paint booth, welders, presses, fixtures, tools, and other related items such as shelving, racks, fans and equipment.
- Position will be responsible for the installing, maintaining and repairing of electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment and systems, relocating equipment as needed to meet all production standards and electrical codes.
- Perform routine facility maintenance such as painting, maintaining interior & exterior lighting, changing various filters, cleaning and painting equipment, etc.
- Perform light construction work, install conduit and assist with minor electrical work such as pulling wire.
- Installing, maintaining and repairing electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment and systems, relocating equipment as needed to meet all production standards and electrical code.
- Troubleshoot production and maintenance problems, performing needed repairs and adaptations of equipment such as changing air, grease and fluid lines, switches, belts and guards.
- Identify potential work failures and initiate corrective action.
- Perform general maintenance fabricating in wood, metal, plastic, etc., along with mig, tig and stick welding. (Example: tables, devices, etc.).
- Performs preventative maintenance activities as required and establishes new PM activities as needed
- Rework specialized parts and tools as needed in production or by the facility.
- Create new or replacement parts for various equipment
- Assist manufacturing engineers as needed in building or obtaining repair or prototype parts
- Must be able to use blueprints, sketches, layouts, wiring diagrams, drawings, and specifications to complete required tasks.
- Communicates directly with production and facilities to coordinate maintenance and repair work.
- Knows and understands city, county, state, and federal regulations relating to maintenance, safety and plant equipment, and work in a manner to ensure that these regulations are met at all times.
- Participates in the 5s program and procedures required to ensure plant cleanliness.
Basic Qualifications:
- Must have an Industrial Maintenance Certificate or Degree; or equivalent experience with at least 2 years of maintenance experience within a manufacturing facility
- Knowledge of EPA and OSHA guidelines
- A strong aptitude in electrical, carpentry, plumbing, painting, electrical, electronics, hydraulics, mechanical and/or pneumatics is desired.
- Must be able to read blueprints, installations/process sheets, wiring diagrams, electrical schematics and diagrams and instruction manuals.
- Must be willing and able to work overtime if necessary or on a call-in basis as required.
- Welding knowledge and experience
- Excellent mechanical and troubleshooting skills
- Good communication skills; speak, read and write English
- Good understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices
- Must be able to safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Must be authorized to work in the US indefinitely
