Plant Controller

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the plant’s monthly financial close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, cost reports, variance analyses, and key performance metrics for plant operations.
• Monitor inventory accounting, standard costing, and manufacturing variances to ensure accurate reporting and cost control.
• Collaborate with supply chain team and operational leadership to oversee costing and inventory management activities, drive performance analysis, support cost reduction initiatives, optimize working capital, and evaluate investment decisions.
• Partner with operations leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, capital spending, and operational improvement initiatives.
• Maintain and strengthen internal controls while ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.
• Oversee fixed assets, inventory controls, and physical inventory processes.
• Support internal and external audits and prepare required financial schedules and documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiencies.
• Provide financial guidance and analysis to support business decisions and plant performance initiatives.
• Supervise and develop accounting staff as applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• 5 years of accounting or finance experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of cost accounting, inventory accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
