Job Summary
We are seeking an organized and enthusiastic Receptionist to join our fast-paced Optical office. As the first point of contact for patients, you will play a vital role in ensuring a welcoming and efficient environment.
Duties
- Warmly greet and check in patients, maintaining professionalism at all times
- Manage patient scheduling, including appointment confirmations and reminders.
- Perform insurance verification and collect payments as needed.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure documentation is compliant with HIPAA standards.
- Handle high volumes of incoming calls using a multi-line phone system
- ·Assist both office staff and patients with various front desk responsibilities
- Ensure a clean and organized front desk area to enhance patient experience.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate efficient patient care.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Medical Receptionist or in a similar role within a medical office or clinic setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong multitasking abilities and composure in a busy environment
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong phone etiquette and customer service skills to effectively communicate with patients and staff.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
- Experience with insurance verification processes is advantageous.
- Skilled at fostering a cooperative and respectful workplace dynamic.
