We are thrilled to announce a rewarding opportunity for dedicated and qualified educators to join our team as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher for the 2025–2026 academic year. This full-time position will involve working across various grade levels, focusing on providing individualized and supportive instruction to students with hearing impairments.
Position Introduction:
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and IEP compliance.
- Develop and deliver customized instructional plans aligned with each student's IEP.
- Conduct ongoing assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Adapt curriculum and classroom materials to ensure accessibility for students with hearing impairments.
- Provide training and consultation to school staff on best practices for working with deaf and hard of hearing students.
- Utilize American Sign Language (ASL), oral communication, or other appropriate modes of communication based on student needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and school teams to support student success.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a closely related discipline is required.
- Must possess a valid Georgia Professional Educator License (PEL) with an endorsement in Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
- Strong communication abilities are essential; proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is highly preferred.
- Proven experience in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and providing classroom accommodations.
- Prior experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing within educational settings is strongly preferred.
