About the Opportunity:
The DHH Teacher will provide specialized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, adapting curriculum and teaching strategies to meet their individual needs. The teacher will also serve as a key resource for staff and families, promoting inclusive practices and fostering a supportive learning environment. Responsibilities include creating and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), supporting language development, consulting with general education teachers, and advocating for students' needs both in and outside the classroom.
Requirements
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or a related field. A valid Georgia teaching license with an endorsement in Deaf and Hard of Hearing is required (or eligibility to obtain one by the start date). Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is highly preferred. Prior experience working with deaf and hard of hearing students in an educational setting is strongly desired. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills are essential for success in this role.
