Position Overview:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt curriculum and instructional strategies.
- Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adjust teaching methods accordingly.
- Facilitate communication between students, families, and school staff to support student success.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team discussions.
- Provide direct instruction using appropriate communication methods, including American Sign Language (ASL) and other assistive technologies.
Requirements
Candidates should hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or a closely related field, along with a valid Georgia teaching certification that includes an endorsement in Deaf and Hard of Hearing. Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is highly preferred, as it greatly enhances communication and instruction.
