Position Summary
The Stock Clerk is responsible for supporting agency-wide inventory operations by receiving, organizing, issuing, storing, and counting inventory. This role ensures accurate stock levels, timely distribution of supplies, and compliance with agency policies, funding requirements, and audit standards.
Stock Clerks play a key role in maintaining efficient inventory workflows and supporting program operations by preventing shortages, reducing delays, and eliminating inefficiencies caused by shared staffing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Inventory Handling & Distribution:
- Receive, inspect, and document incoming inventory
- Organize and store inventory according to procedures
- Issue and distribute supplies and equipment
- Manage surplus inventory, storage, and distribution workflows
Inventory Control & Accuracy:
- Conduct routine stock counts and assist with audits
- Implement consistent inventory control practices
- Maintain accurate physical and digital inventory records
Operational Support:
- Maintain stock levels for all departments
- Track monthly usage trends to support budgeting
- Prevent shortages and eliminate over-purchasing
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure compliance with agency policies, safety standards, and audit requirements
- Maintain documentation for audits
- Report discrepancies or damages to the Inventory Manager
Collaboration & Communication:
- Communicate inventory needs and issues
- Support centralized inventory control
Additional Duties
- Support Transportation Department (Transport, Fill-in Driver)
- Other duties within Auxiliary Services
Staffing Structure
2 Stock Clerks reporting directly to the Inventory Manager
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in inventory, warehousing, or logistics preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to lift, move, and organize supplies
- Basic computer and inventory system skills
