What are the responsibilities and job description for the Consulting Partner – Retail Merchandising (Grocery Focus) | Remote, United States position at Claddagh Resources?
Consulting Partner – Retail Merchandising (Grocery Focus) | Remote, United States
Our client is a global technology and consulting services leader building out a North American Retail Merchandising practice. They are seeking a founding Consulting Partner to lead and grow their grocery-focused merchandising capability — a rare opportunity to shape a practice from the ground up within a well-resourced, globally recognised firm.
This is a senior, highly visible role for someone who has spent their career at the intersection of retail merchandising strategy and large-scale transformation — and who is ready to bring that expertise to bear in a consulting and business development capacity.
What You'll Do
Lead the build-out of the North American retail merchandising consulting practice with a primary focus on grocery. Drive business development with senior grocery and retail executives — shaping solutions, leading proposals, and closing complex engagements. Serve as the firm's subject matter authority on merchandising strategy, assortment planning, pricing, promotions, category management, and supplier collaboration. Partner with global delivery teams to ensure successful execution of client engagements. Build thought leadership content and represent the practice externally at industry forums and with client C-suites.
What We're Looking For
Deep merchandising expertise from inside a major grocer (VP/SVP level) or from a top consulting firm with a strong grocery client portfolio. Proven track record of driving revenue — whether through BD in a consulting context or large-scale commercial ownership at a retailer. Grocery-first experience is non-negotiable; broader retail coverage (mass, drug, convenience) is a plus. Comfortable operating with ambiguity and building something new rather than inheriting an established practice. Experience from a recognised consulting or SI firm (Big 4, Accenture, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant or equivalent). Willingness to travel up to 50%. Prior experience at a global consulting or IT services firm is a strong advantage.
Compensation: $163,000 – $226,000 base, commensurate with experience. Location: Remote — anywhere in the United States. Travel required.
This role is being filled on a confidential basis through an executive search partner.
Salary : $163,000 - $226,000
