About the Role
We are seeking a high-caliber Business Development Manager (BDM) to lead our cllient's Automotive vertical growth across the West Coast. This is a hunter-profile role designed for a seasoned leader who can navigate complex engineering ecosystems and secure new logos within the automotive and mobility sectors.
The ideal candidate brings a sophisticated blend of technical literacy and consultative sales prowess, specifically within Engineering Services and IoT. You won't just be selling a service; you’ll be architecting solutions for the future of mobility.
Key Responsibilities
- New Logo Acquisition: Act as a "pipeline hunter" to identify, qualify, and close multi-million dollar deals within the automotive sector.
- Consultative Selling: Leverage a deep understanding of Engineering R&D (ER&D), IoT services, and software-defined vehicles to solve client pain points.
- Strategic Leadership: Engage at the Director, VP, and Partner levels to build long-term strategic alliances.
- Market Expansion: Define and execute a West Coast territory plan, focusing on high-growth areas in automotive tech and electrification.
- Collaboration: Partner with technical delivery teams to ensure proposed solutions are feasible, scalable, and high-impact.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: A minimum of 13–20 years of professional experience. We are looking for industry veterans who have moved past individual contributor roles into strategic BD ownership.
- Domain Expertise: Proven track record in Engineering Services or IoT Services.
- Note: Candidates with a background purely in IT Staffing or General IT Outsourcing will not be considered.
- Seniority: You must have a history of owning the full business development lifecycle.
- Target Background: Significant experience working within or selling against top-tier global consultancies
- Function: Background in Sales, BD, or Account Management, ideally supported by an Engineering foundation.
Logistics & Travel
- Location: While the role is remote-friendly, you must be based on the West Coast to facilitate client proximity.
- Travel: Ability to travel within the U.S. as required to meet with stakeholders and close key accounts.
Salary : $180,000 - $200,000
